Ghost Town to Havana: Private Screening

Enjoy a private screening at Pearson Theatre
Thursday, May 3 at 6:30 pm

Ghost Town to Havana is an intimate portrait of two youth baseball coaches and their teenaged players.

In May of 2010, the coaches meet and their teams get the chance to play each other in Cuba. Nicolas Reyes, a coach in Havana, and Roscoe Bryant, a coach in Oakland, mentor their boys through the toughest of circumstances. At its core Ghost Town to Havana is a film about poverty, mentorship, sports and race. It received the prestigious 2014 Saul Zaentz Award from the Berkeley Film Foundation.

The film’s Director/Producer, Eugene Corr, as well as Roscoe Bryant, coach of the Oakland Royals, will be on hand for conversation following this private screening.

Ghost Town to Havana is a celebration of life, community, boyhood and baseball. The film and reception will be at the Pearson Theatre, the screening room at Meyer Sound in Berkeley, courtesy of John and Helen Meyer.
