Annual Authors Dinner

Saturday February 8, 2020

Honorary Chair: Michael Lewis

Michael Lewis is the best-selling author of The Fifth Risk, Liar’s Poker, Moneyball, The Blind Side, The Big Short, and The Undoing Project. He lives in Berkeley, California, with his wife and three children.

The Foundation’s Annual Authors Dinner is a unique cultural event that honors authors and spotlights the Bay Area’s literary tradition. For one magical night in February, over 300 people gather for this glamorous gala featuring a lively meet-the-authors reception, an epicurean meal seated with one of our honored authors, and a festive program introducing all 24 authors. Guests take home lasting memories and a celebrated author’s book.

We are excited to host this unmissable event for one year only at the Berkeley City Club while the Central Library is under renovation. Guests will be served their choice of three delicious entrees by Chef Fabrice Marcon of Julia’s Restaurant. They will also enjoy spending an evening amid the stunning architecture of the club, nicknamed Julia Morgan’s “Little Castle.”

Proceeds help fund library innovations, literacy projects, technology, and capital improvements that make a great public library extraordinary!

Emmy award winner Linda Schacht Gage, two-time Pulitzer Prize winning author T.J. Stiles, and SF Chronicle columnist and author of A River of Stars Vanessa Hua.
