Take a view of this short video tribute to Saul Zaentz on his path of inspired filmmaking. For this academy award-winning producer of Amadeus, The English Patient, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, and more, a prodigious love of books and reading made him a lifelong supporter of public libraries.
Library Fan Club
Small donations make a big impact! Become a member of our Library Fan Club by setting up a monthly sustaining donation of any size.
- All new members receive a tote bag!
- At $25/month, we’ll also send you our book A Selected List of Fiction Set in Berkeley
- At $84/month, you get a tote bag, the book, invites to special events, and membership in the Rosa Shattuck Circle.
Rosa Shattuck Circle
The Rosa Shattuck Circle is our highest level of donors. Rosa Shattuck, a Berkeley pioneer who believed libraries change lives and make a community strong, secured the funding and donated the land for Berkeley’s first permanent public library in 1903. Rosa Shattuck Circle members are donors of $1,000+.
Planned Giving
Including the Berkeley Public Library Foundation in your estate planning helps ensure our libraries will thrive for generations. Bequests and other planned gifts are added to our Generation Fund for long-term investment and growth. Donors who make or intend to make a planned gift are included in our Legacy Society. We’ve partnered with FreeWill so that everyone in our Library community can access estate planning resources and support the Library for generations to come.
The Berkeley Public Library Foundation gives so much to so many.
I give whatever I can to support their work in our community.
